Watermelon rinds

We know that the delicious fleshy part of the watermelon is nutritious, but what about the rinds? Well for one, the rind contains naturally collagen enhancing properties and antioxidants. These can help the skin with its healing and regeneration, and protect the skin from free radical damage which fights the signs of skin aging. The juice is also a great astringent, so it is a very gentle way to treat acne and pimples!

After you finish enjoying your watermelon, use a spoon to scrape off the leftover fleshy pink part. Rinse them well. Cleanse your face normally, and use the rind to massage your skin about 1 - 2 minutes. Give your face a quick rinse in cool water and pat dry. Finish off with moisturizer. Your skin will be soft and radiant!

Some other ways to use the rinds would be in the bath, like my mom, or you can grate the rind and apply the pulp as a mask. You can also use cotton pads to soak up the juice grated rind, and use as a toner!! It is very soothing on the skin, plus it smells nice.

The next time you have watermelon, don't throw the peel away!! Kill two birds with one stone and use the rinds on your skin as a natural beauty treatment at home! It's perfect for the summer season after you have been out in the sun all day. Skincare can be fun, delicious, and resourceful. Try it!
